Designed by the renowned architect, Alfred Waterhouse, this world-famous building houses one of the largest and most magnificent galleries to be found anywhere.
The Museum’s Central Hall incorporates a soaring vaulted ceiling, intricately carved terracotta arches and a beautiful mosaic floor, which are all further enhanced by the 26m long Diplodocus skeleton and a 1,300-year-old giant Sequoia .
Under the same roof, yet a world apart, the Earth Galleries provide a dynamic, modern setting that has become an extremely popular venue since its opening in the summer of 1996.
